3 Idiots Ready To Release

3 Idiots which tells the story of three friends whose dismal grade point averages at their college influence their friendship, romance and career choices. It is based on a famous novel, 'Five Point Someone' by Indian writer Chetan Bhagat, though it is denied by Hirani.

3 Idiots is produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who has a long time association with Hirani and has produced all his previous directorial ventures, whilst Abhijat Joshi and Rajkumar Hirani have written the screenplay. The film's soundtrack is composed by Shantanu Moitra with lyrics penned by Swanand Kirkire.

It has got an amazing star cast, starring Aamir Khan as Ryan (Rancho), Kareena Kapoor as Neha Kurien, Sharman Joshi as Alok, Madhavan as Hari and Boman Irani as Professor Kurien.

Ryan, a handsome and adventurous young man, loves his friends more than anything else (more than his parents too). He hates being a book worm like other of his college mates, so always ends up getting low grades in his college exams. He believes in doing things his way, and ends up having five pointers as his GPA.

Hari, a shy guy by nature wants to be handsome like Ryan. He is average at studies (pretty bad/funny at viva. He falls in love with Neha Kurien (his Professor’s daughter). He always messes up when he attempts to impress Mr Kurien (his professor).

Alok is a simple boy who wants to get good grades and earn money to overcome poverty of his family.

The releasing date of the film 3 Idiots is now fixed on Dec-25, 2009.

‘Paa’ is a role of a lifetime: Abhishek

Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan, who plays father to real life dad Amitabh Bachchan in R Balakrishnan’s upcoming movie Paa feels that it is a lifetime opportunity for him.

“This is a role of a lifetime. Very few actors get such an experience and opportunity... especially a son to play father to his own Paa. We are only and perhaps the first actor father-son duo to have played themselves in a role reversal,” Abhishek said.

He said that Paa, where Big B plays a 13-year-old boy suffering from progeria, a rare genetic disorder, which accelerates ageing, is a simple, light hearted and happy film.

“Paa is not a film about progeria. It is a happy film about a father and his son and the sweet moments that they share,” Abhishek said.

“The genetic disorder is just the unique backdrop of the film... just like Mili where my mother (Jaya Bachchan) is suffering from a disease but the film was not about the illness,” he said.

“There is a family in Kolkata where three children of a family suffer from progeria syndrome. But Balki did not want us to meet them and discuss their condition because it would have been very insensitive and intrusive,” he said.
